Welcome to Spikeri district \u2013 a place with a creative and historical atmosphere. Spikeri Quarter and its adjacent promenade, which are part of the territory of UNESCO Cultural Heritage \u2013 the historical center of the city of Riga and now is the home for several cultural organizations, offices and event venues<\/a>.<\/h4>\n

In 2013 was completed Spikeri quarter reconstruction, whitch included substantial adjustments to the urban environment \u2013 making the land and riverbank accessible and safe, and developing a port which can be further used as part of the public water-transport system in the city. The overall development of the Sp\u012b\u0137eri quarter demonstrates an innovative approach to fostering the urban development of the area, turning it into an oasis of creative industries through joint public-private actions. The project was funded by the EU\u2019s European Regional Development Fund and Riga City Council.<\/p>\n

Still there is ongoing work on the renovation of Spikeri buildings – both indoors and historic facades.<\/p>\n
